Master of Accounting

The Master of Accounting (MAcc) program is a 48-hour degree program that develops the values, knowledge, and skills individuals need to strengthen their business operations. The goal of this degree program is to fully equip students for a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and to develop accounting knowledge and expertise essential for functioning in a variety of accounting and business contexts. Students who intend to sit the CPA Exam in the state of Georgia will meet the requirements to do so upon completion of the MAcc program. While the program does not necessarily fulfill all the requirements for taking the CPA exam in every state, and additional coursework may be required, graduates are well-prepared for specialty work in accounting, tax preparation, management of corporate finances, real estate accounting, payroll services, etc.

Graduates of the Master of Accounting will be prepared to:

  2. Apply appropriate and ethical professional accounting standards and rules
  3. Recognize, evaluate, and respond appropriately to legal and ethical issues in accounting practices
  4. Synthesize data and evidence to reach appropriate solutions to complex accounting issues
  5. Pursue a successful career as a CPA
