Description

Faculty members are responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities.

 Responsibilities

Develop and/or update class syllabus

Submit completed mid-semester…

Grade student assignments… in a timely manner

Participate in departmental…

Prepare video lectures and/or conduct classes via Zoom, Skype, MS Teams, or other virtual class delivery methods if and when necessary

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in the requisite field of instruction (Master’s or terminal degree given preference; and a terminal degree is required for graduate instruction).

Teaching experience and references required.

Part- and Full-time Faculty Positions available: English/ESL instructor 

Description

Adjunct instructor of English and ESL.

 Responsibilities

Develop student skills in in English grammar, academic writing, and communication in mainly international students. No knowledge of foreign languages is required, but flexibility and adaptability in teaching is necessary.

Conduct ESL instruction based on existing curriculum and texts.

Should be comfortable with online as well as in-person instruction.

Create syllabus and lesson plans based on existing templates.

Maintain complete and accurate student records, including grades, attendance, etc.

Abide by Underwood University rules and policies.

Qualifications

Minimum BA in English, English Literature, or a related field (MA in English, TESOL, or a related field preferred).

CELTA or other ESL qualification a plus.

Previous post-secondary teaching experience preferred but not required.
